But the grass looks more like a hay aftermath than stubble, and it's hard to discern any of the expected cereal ears at the tips of the stems. Setting aside this ambiguity, this is a fascinating example of hay as picturesque tourist lure. The emblem of photogenic rural serenity is literally on the same page as Venetian gondolas posed against San Giorgio.
